Things you should know:

**All textbooks and novels are barcoded. Students are responsible for returning the books with the barcodes that were checked out to them. If the book assigned to them is lost, a replacement fee will need to be paid. For more information, read the SRVUSD Replacement Policy below.

**All textbooks that are checked out from the Textbook Office need to be returned directly to the Textbook Office or to the book drop box, NOT to the teacher. Teachers cannot be responsible for turning in student textbooks or novels. It is the student’s responsibility.

**If a student drops a class, the corresponding textbook or novel is to be returned to the Textbook Office immediately.

**If a student checks out a textbook or novel from the Textbook Office, they will be held financially liable if the textbook is lost or damaged. Per District policy, we cannot accept copies purchased elsewhere to replace a lost or damaged book. To reiterate, no books purchased from Amazon, Ebay, etc. can be accepted. The student will need to pay the fine specified by the Textbook Office. Refunds will be issued for fines paid on lost books if the item is found within 6 months.

** Fines may be paid HERE. For in-person payments, go to the Bookkeeping Office window by the front office. It is open Mon-Fri, 8:00am-4:00pm.

SRVUSD Textbook Replacement Policy

Students are responsible to return all textbooks, instructional materials and novels loaned to them for the school year. If students do not return the materials loaned to them, they will be charged a replacement fee to replace the lost edition(s). In order to assure that we are getting the correct book, we are unable to accept replacement books purchased online or at bookstores. There are often many editions available of the same book as well as California vs National editions that appear to be an exact match outwardly; however, the content can, and does, vary. Also, used books often arrive with missing pages, and/or damage that causes the book to be unusable. To ensure that we get the correct edition that exactly matches the one that was lost, our District textbook clerk will order a replacement from one of our reliable vendors.
