Please read the information carefully in this letter sent on August 26, 2024. Since we use an outside vendor, APTS, to process the fees, there are TWO steps for students to complete. If both are not completed, students will not be able to take an exam. Students who have 504 or IEP accommodations at school must still request approval through CollegeBoard. They do not automatically transfer over. Follow this link to begin the process for getting CollegeBoard approval for accommodations. Students who already have approval from a prior exam (SAT, AP, PSAT), do not need to re-apply.

MVHS and all SRVUSD high schools are NOT able to accommodate students from outside of our district to take AP exams.

All AP exams are now partially or fully digital. Digital exams are facilitated through the student's district-issued Chromebook, using CollegeBoard's secure portal, "Bluebook." Students should make sure that their Chromebook (and charger) is fully funcitonal at least 2 weeks prior to testing. For tech support, the student should contact district tech support, so they can coordinate a swap if needed.

You will register as an "Independent Study" or "Exam Only" studen. with MV. You will pay for the exam FIRST and then email acorritone@srvusd.net for a Course Join Code.

IMPORTANT: Make sure the outside institution has given the student a JOIN code, not an EXAM code to access the course materials. If they have a JOIN code, they can take the exam at MV. If they have an EXAM code, they cannot.

  • For Independent Study students taking the AP Computer Science Principles exam, SRVUSD can provide an exam seat for the multiple choice portion of the exam ONLY. LATE TESTING

LATE TESTING

Occasionally, circumstances make it necessary for students to test late. COLLEGE BOARD HAS a pre-determined schedule for late tesing as well as, acceptable reasons; students MUST get prior approval from the AP Testing Coordinator in order to be placed on the late testing list because the altername materials must be ordered and mailed to school. Examples for acceptable reasons include: participation in a school-sponsored athletic or academic competition, conflict with another AP exam scheduled at the same time (due to accommdations or coincidence), or a serious illness. Proof MUST be provided to register for a Late Exam.

REGISTER NOW if you plan to take the exam, even if there is the potential for a date conflict later (i.e. athletic playoffs, etc).

SRVUSD will be holding AP late exams on Friday, May 23rd even though that is a non-school day for SRVUSD.

Due to our finals schedule and facility usage, Monte Vista will NOT be holding "exception testing" after the CollegeBoard's late testing window.
