Please read the following information carefully. Since we use an outside vendor, APTS, to process the fees, there are TWO steps for students to complete. If both are not completed, students will not be able to take an exam.

MVHS and SRVUSD high schools are NOT able to accommodate students from outside of our district to take AP exams.

All SRVUSD high schools are implementing Digital exams in some subject areas. Digital exams will be facilitated through the student's district-issues Chromebook, using CollegeBoard's secure portal, "Bluebook."

In Spring of 2024, CollegeBoard is offering digital testing in the 7 subjects listed below. Monte Vista's plans for administering digital testing are as follows:

  • Computer Science Principles - Digital
  • English Language and Composition - Digital
  • English Literature and Composition- Traditional Paper/Pencil
  • European History- Digital
  • Seminar- Digital
  • United States History- Digital
  • World History: Modern - Digital

FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE NOT ENROLLED IN AN AP COURSE AT MV:

FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE NOT ENROLLED IN AN AP COURSE AT MV:

You will register as an "Independent Study" or "Exam Only" studen. with MV. You will pay for the exam FIRST and then email acorritone@srvusd.net for a Course Join Code.

IMPORTANT: Make sure the outside institution has given the student a JOIN code, not an EXAM code to access the course materials. If they have a JOIN code, they can take the exam at MV. If they have an EXAM code, they cannot.

  • For Independent Study students taking the AP Computer Science Principles exam, SRVUSD can provide an exam seat for the multiple choice portion of the exam ONLY. If you need support with “the create performance task” submission via AP Digital Portfolio, you must work with the organization (school) where you took the AP Computer Science Principles course.

  • SRVUSD CANNOT accommodate Independent Study exams for these AP courses:
    • AP 2-D Art & Design
    • AP 3-D Art & Design

ALTERNATE / LATE TESTING DATES

ALTERNATE / LATE TESTING DATES

Occasionally, circumstances make it necessary for students to test late. COLLEGE BOARD HAS VERY SPECIFIC, ACCEPTABLE REASONS FOR LATE TESTING and students MUST get prior approval from the AP Testing Coordinator in order to be placed on the late testing list. Students cannot register for these exams on their own. Examples for acceptable reasons include: participation in a school-sponsored athletic or academic competition, conflict with another AP exam scheduled at the same time (due to accommdations or coincidence), or a serious illness. Proof MUST be provided to register for a Late Exam.

To preserve the security of AP Exams, alternate forms are used for late testing. All students who participate in late testing at a given school MUST take these alternate exams on the scheduled late-testing dates at the scheduled times (see below).

Special materials must be ordered for late testing, so notification is required or the student may not sit for the exam. REGISTER NOW if you plan to take the exam, even if there is the potential for a date conflict later (i.e. playoffs, etc).
