Renee & Rick Mencarelli
Sports Contributors, Renee’ and Rick Mencarelli have been integral to the fabric of Monte Vista's athletic community since 2000 when their son, Ross, began playing football his Freshman year. From that moment, they embraced the spirit of giving back by becoming involved in various volunteer roles, initially through the Athletic Boosters. Their dedication only deepened over the years, with Renee spearheading the MVAB Student-Athlete Scholarship program, which annually awards deserving seniors with $1000 scholarships.
Renee's passion for fostering school spirit led her to initiate the creation of Athletic Booster’s spirit wear. They were both at the forefront of organizing the highly anticipated Athletic Boosters Crab feed, a tradition that brings the community together. Furthermore, their 20-year tenure of volunteering for Grad Night and prom exemplifies her dedication to enhancing the overall high school experience for Monte Vista students. They still continue to support Monte Vista by volunteering and attending many games of different sports and student activities that involve Monte Vista. It has always been their way of giving back to the school they love and enjoy.
