Lindsay Rood, class of 2015 emerged as a true two-sport athlete, showcasing her talent on both the softball diamond and the soccer pitch.  As a four-year varsity starter in both sports, she earned All-NCS recognition all four years in both softball and soccer.  Her soccer team competed in the NCS Championship game each of her four years, winning two titles and securing the No. 1 spot in the Nation by StudentSports.com during her junior year.  Her senior year, Lindsay led the 23-1 nationally-ranked Mustangs soccer team in points with 32, tying for team-best with 13 goals while adding 6 assists while also being named to 1st-Team All-State.  Transitioning to her main sport in the spring, Lindsay dominated her senior softball season hitting .529 with 46 hits, 36 runs scored, 19 RBIs, 8 doubles, 4 triples, 5 home runs, and a perfect 20 for 20 in stolen bases.  She was named the 2015 Monte Vista Female Athlete of the Year.
 
Following graduation, Lindsay attended the University of California, Berkeley, and was a four-year starter in all 223 games played.  During her freshman year, Lindsay started all 58 games as their shortstop, leading the team in both slugging percentage (.512) and on-base percentage (.481) and secured a position on the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team.  As a senior, Lindsay led the Pac-12 in hits with 78 and even led the nation as the only player with a perfect 30-for-30 stolen base record.  She led the Cal Bears at the plate with a (.396) batting average.  In each of her 4 years at Cal, Lindsay earned a position on an All-Pac-12 Team.  Her recognition included being named to the All-Pacific Regional Teams in 2018 and 2019 and was selected an All-American  by Softball America in 2019.  Following her four-year career, Lindsay's name was etched into the Cal Bears softball all-time record book, boasting the following impressive rankings: 1st in doubles with 50, 2nd in runs scored with 189, 2nd in triples with 16, 2nd in total bases with 410, and 2nd in stolen bases with 96.
 
In 2020, SportStars Magazine recognized Lindsay as one of NorCal’s Top 10 Female Athletes of the Past Decade.
