Lauren Goerz, class of 2010, was a four-year letter winner on the women’s lacrosse team.  As a midfielder, Lauren captained the Monte Vista Women’s lacrosse team to their first two NCS Championships in program history in 2009 and 2010.  She was a two-time all-American, two-time Contra Costa Times Player of the Year, and twice recognized in the all-EBAL 1st Team.  In her senior year, she was additionally voted EBAL league MVP and California Player of the Year by West Side Lacrosse.

After her high school career, Lauren continued to excel in lacrosse at the University of Virginia. She made four appearances in the NCAA tournament and played a significant role in helping her team reach the NCAA final four during her senior year.  Lauren also demonstrated her academic excellence by earning a place on the all-ACC Academic team and receiving the prestigious Yeardley Reynolds Love Endowed Scholarship.
 
After graduation, Lauren moved abroad and continued her lacrosse career internationally as a coach and player.  Serving as an assistant coach for the Scottish National team from 2014 to 2019, she played a pivotal role in their ascent to a 5th place world ranking in the 2017 Women’s World Cup.  Her dedication and impact were recognized with the European Lacrosse Federation's esteemed "Spirit of Lacrosse" award. Beyond coaching, Lauren represented Germany in the 2022 Women’s World Cup, adding to her accolades as a three-time German lacrosse league champion and two-time league MVP with HLC Rot-Weiß, based in Munich.
