Brian Barbour, class of 2009, was a three-year letter winner on the men’s basketball team and was the team captain his junior and senior year. Barbour helped lead the Mustangs to their first two NCS Championships in program history in 2007 and 2009. In his senior year, Barbour helped lead the Mustangs to their first Nor-Cal championship appearance in program history. Barbour was a unanimous selection for 1st team all EBAL in 2008 and 2009, a two-time all Metro, All-Northern California and All-State Selection. Barbour was also voted Regional Player of the Year and Northern California Player of the Year in 2009. 
 
He went on to play at Columbia University, where he became the first three-time captain in program history. Brian led his team in scoring, assists and steals from his sophomore to senior year. Barbour was a three-time All-Ivy League and all metro-region player. He left Columbia as the only player in program history with over 1000 points, 300 assists and 100 steals, finishing in the top ten in school history in all three categories. As a senior, Brian was a semifinalist for the Bob Cousy award given to the nation's top point guard. Following his career at Columbia, Brian played professional basketball in the top league in the United Kingdom.
