Rick Morgan

Rick Morgan, Class of 1973, was an outstanding two-sport athlete at Monte Vista High School, competing in soccer and baseball. He distinguished himself on the baseball field as a standout shortstop and pitcher, earning All-EBAL honors his senior year and throwing the first recorded no-hitter in school history against Granada High School.
Rick continued his career at Diablo Valley College (1974–75), where he set a school record for most assists by a shortstop, before transferring to Santa Clara University (1977–78). Pitching for the Broncos, he earned All-Conference honors and led the conference in saves as a senior.
In 1978, Rick signed with the Toronto Blue Jays and began his professional baseball career in the minor leagues, playing in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada; Dunedin, Florida; Knoxville, Tennessee; and Durham, North Carolina. He also competed professionally in Venezuela and the Dominican Republic, compiling an impressive 25–4 record overseas from 1981 to 1983.
Following his playing career, Rick coached baseball at multiple levels for more than 35 years, including at Lodi and Tokay High Schools. He founded RAM Pro Pitching, which he continues to operate, providing pitching instruction to young players in the Lodi area. Rick remains active in competitive baseball today as both a pitcher and position player.
