About Us
Our Mission: To promote a superior academic environment for the students at Monte Vista High School, to recognize academic achievement within the student body, to support the faculty, and to raise funds for said purposes.
Monte Vista Academic Boosters is a parent supported, non-profit 501(c)3 corporation (Tax ID 68-0260241) that directly benefits the Monte Vista academic program. Our primary goal is to fund additional class sections at Monte Vista. By doing this, we accomplish two important goals. First, your donations help Monte Vista deliver and maintain our national recognized, highly rated academic program. The breadth and depth in our program offerings give our students opportunities to learn beyond the limitations of many local private schools. Second, the additional class sections help reduce student/teacher ratios which strengthens the teaching environment for the benefit of students with all learning styles.
Adding extra class sections is costly and is completely dependent on the generosity of Monte Vista parents and guardians. Historically, Monte Vista Academic Boosters have been able to fund 16-18 class sections every year and we continue to strive towards that goal.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is a section?
A. A section is one class taught during one period, all year. For example, a student’s 4th period English class is one section. Each full-time teacher teaches 5 sections each day; each student takes 6 or 7 sections each day. The cost for one section this year is approximately $24,400.
Q. Which classes does Academic Boosters pay for?
A. Each year, Academic Boosters makes a funding commitment to the Monte Vista administration the end of May. The administration determines which classes will be added based on student need.
Q. If Monte Vista parents raise enough money to purchase a large number of sections, will that reduce the amount that the district gives our school?
A. When asked this question, prior Superintendent Steve Enoch replied, “The funding level provided to schools is based on student enrollment, not parent contributions. The district very much appreciates the role that parents play at Monte Vista and at other schools in the district as well.”
Q. If I donate, do I get any tax advantages?
A. Yes, Monte Vista Academic Boosters is a qualified 501(c)(3) charitable organization (tax ID 68-0260241). All cash donations are 100% tax-deductible to the full extent the law allows for the calendar year in which you make your contributions. For stock donations, please consult your tax advisor.
Q. Can I donate online, by credit card?
A. Yes, through https://mvhigh.futurefund.com
Q. How do I pursue Corporate Matching funds?
A. Many employers offer Corporate Matching, which matches your donation dollar for dollar. This means your donation can be worth double. Corporate Matching consistently funds an additional 1-1.5 class sections a year and can be requested directly from your company. If you need help, or have questions, please email matching@mvacademicboosters.org.
